try your local bank. if not go to you travel agent and ask. i don't think you can get it over here. think it's best to take sterling or dollars. Cuba have few imports and exports, they're self reliable.

Buck Island, St. Croix. It's not free like you want, have to pay glass bottom boat, but there's an underwater trail you can follow. It's the only underwater US national park--or something like that.
Cozumel, Mexico. Go to Cancun and take a ferry boat from there to Cozumel. It only costs a few dollars. There are incredible things to to in this area.it's a heck of a vacation.

Yes its on Paradise Island, a mini land of the coast of Nassau. Atlantis is a very nice hotel with lots of animals and great food. I ate of Market Place. Its buffet style with a wide variety of food from all over the world.

I can't say for sure that it is the cheapest but Foote Prints on the Sands was pretty inexpensive when I went. I paid $500 for 2 people and it included roundtrip airfare from Dallas, ground transportation to/from Montego Bay, and 3 nights hotel. We had a great time! Do yourself a favor if at all possible and get a passport before you leave. It just makes your life so much easier.
If you cannot do so, make sure that your birth certificate is an original-official state issued, certified, birth certificate. It must be original or government certified. No hospital certificates and NO photocopies.
Taking along the marriage certificate should be fine. Having different last names, my husband and I always carried along a photocopy (original issued in the Bahamas and too difficult to replace) of ours whenever we traveled. Never had a problem.

I went last August during 3rd or 4th week, lost two days of my time their due to what eventually became Hurricane Katrina. Stayed at the Atlantis Royal Tower. Had been there before. Very nice but quite expensive.
Anytime really I don't think it gets below 70 Degrees there. Just try to avoid the hurricane season (Aug.-Nov.)if you don't want to gamble on cutting your trip short

On most smaller Caribbean islands the rain is on the west side of the island, and the east end is more like a desert. The mountainous part of the island tends to form rain clouds. You can always escape the rain, unless a hurricane comes.
There is NO rainy season in the Caribbean, however some periods or even years may have more rain than others. It can rain every day (usually in the overnight). Rain in the daytime is usually short lived, if I'm walking and it starts raining I usually don't stop cause its soon to be over. Annual rainfall is about 43 inches, Sept to Oct and May to June tend to be more wet, but only a fraction more than the other months

I've been to the Bahamas several times. Summer is too hot to really enjoy everything. I would say my favorite trip was in November. The weather was beautiful. I went swimming with stingrays and the water was a little cold for me. We still had a great time! Besides the water, the weather was perfect for sightseeing, shopping, etc.! Have fun!

Jamaica is pretty year round. Personally, I wouldn't go in the summer because that's hurricane season. Besides, it is very nice there in the winter (still great temperatures) so why risk having your vacation ruined by summer storms?? My favorite time there is Dec-Feb.but that's just my opinion.
Anytime in general. It all depends on what you want to do. If you want to say Scuba Dive there are months you want to avoid due to chances of rough seas (LATE Dec , Early Jan) and lots of rain (Nov).. . Dont get me wrong, DEc and JAn will give you severe sun burns but is just not great for Scuba. Dont listen to anyone about hurricanes. The USA gets hit far more with Hurricanes (every year) than Jamaica. The last hurricane to hit Jamaica was Gilbert in 1988 ! I do wish people would look at the Hurricane landfall statistics before assuming that we get hit all the time. So if you want to avoid a hurricane dont travel to Florida during the summer months.

I've been in December several times, and it's been pretty nice. As far as I can tell, April might be a really good time, since it'll be warm but tourist season won't have peaked just yet (july-august is usually pretty crowded).
About the touristy part, that has to do with which places you plan to visit. Some parts of Cuba are off-limits to Cubans who don't work in them, so obviously you're only going to see tourists there. And since tourism is an important source of income, you're bound to see extranjeros in most places. I wouldn't reccomend Varadero. sure, the beach is pretty, but you won't really get a sense of the real Cuba. When is the best time to visit Cuba? If you decide to go on Norwegian Cruiselines, definetly stay away from the Norway one of their ships. Stay away from the winter time and hurricane season. This is when the most storms will form and cause the waters to be rough (I've been on cruises in the winter that has 20 foot waves) Peak season is most likely to be the calmest water.
Have you ever been on a cruise? I know several people that have motion sickness and were not affected by it. But, there are patches and also wrist bands that you can buy (the ship usually will have them as well) that helps you to deal with it.

When the cold water of the Atlantic hits the warm water of the caribbean, usually one gets turbulent waters, however, load up on sea-sickness pills which contain antihistimines, book a cabin in the center of the ship ( which is the most stabilized part of the ship ), and, if worse comes to worse, visit the ships Dr. The turbulent seas only last a short time - usually a day, so I think u will be fine. Have been to many different islands at different times of the year and loved it all. On most islands the Temp. does not fluctuate much from summer to winter. Might want to remember June to November is hurricane season, but that too have never stopped me. The chances of being on one of the islands the exact week its hit is slim. Summer is usually cheaper and actually, I think prettier because everything is blooming. Winter is nice if you are leaving somewhere cold.

Buck Island, St. Croix. It's not free like you want, have to pay glass bottom boat, but there's an underwater trail you can follow. It's the only underwater US national park--or something like that.
Cozumel, Mexico. Go to Cancun and take a ferry boat from there to Cozumel. It only costs a few dollars. There are incredible things to to in this area.it's a heck of a vacation.

Yes its on Paradise Island, a mini land of the coast of Nassau. Atlantis is a very nice hotel with lots of animals and great food. I ate of Market Place. Its buffet style with a wide variety of food from all over the world.

I can't say for sure that it is the cheapest but Foote Prints on the Sands was pretty inexpensive when I went. I paid $500 for 2 people and it included roundtrip airfare from Dallas, ground transportation to/from Montego Bay, and 3 nights hotel. We had a great time! Do yourself a favor if at all possible and get a passport before you leave. It just makes your life so much easier.
If you cannot do so, make sure that your birth certificate is an original-official state issued, certified, birth certificate. It must be original or government certified. No hospital certificates and NO photocopies.
Taking along the marriage certificate should be fine. Having different last names, my husband and I always carried along a photocopy (original issued in the Bahamas and too difficult to replace) of ours whenever we traveled. Never had a problem.

I went last August during 3rd or 4th week, lost two days of my time their due to what eventually became Hurricane Katrina. Stayed at the Atlantis Royal Tower. Had been there before. Very nice but quite expensive.

On most smaller Caribbean islands the rain is on the west side of the island, and the east end is more like a desert. The mountainous part of the island tends to form rain clouds. You can always escape the rain, unless a hurricane comes.
There is NO rainy season in the Caribbean, however some periods or even years may have more rain than others. It can rain every day (usually in the overnight). Rain in the daytime is usually short lived, if I'm walking and it starts raining I usually don't stop cause its soon to be over. Annual rainfall is about 43 inches, Sept to Oct and May to June tend to be more wet, but only a fraction more than the other months

I've been to the Bahamas several times. Summer is too hot to really enjoy everything. I would say my favorite trip was in November. The weather was beautiful. I went swimming with stingrays and the water was a little cold for me. We still had a great time! Besides the water, the weather was perfect for sightseeing, shopping, etc.! Have fun!

Jamaica is pretty year round. Personally, I wouldn't go in the summer because that's hurricane season. Besides, it is very nice there in the winter (still great temperatures) so why risk having your vacation ruined by summer storms?? My favorite time there is Dec-Feb.but that's just my opinion.

If you want to say Scuba Dive there are months you want to avoid due to chances of rough seas (LATE Dec , Early Jan) and lots of rain (Nov).. . Dont get me wrong, DEc and JAn will give you severe sun burns but is just not great for Scuba. Dont listen to anyone about hurricanes. The USA gets hit far more with Hurricanes (every year) than Jamaica. The last hurricane to hit Jamaica was Gilbert in 1988 ! I do wish people would look at the Hurricane landfall statistics before assuming that we get hit all the time. So if you want to avoid a hurricane dont travel to Florida during the summer months.

I've been in December several times, and it's been pretty nice. As far as I can tell, April might be a really good time, since it'll be warm but tourist season won't have peaked just yet (july-august is usually pretty crowded).
About the touristy part, that has to do with which places you plan to visit. Some parts of Cuba are off-limits to Cubans who don't work in them, so obviously you're only going to see tourists there. And since tourism is an important source of income, you're bound to see extranjeros in most places. I wouldn't reccomend Varadero. sure, the beach is pretty, but you won't really get a sense of the real Cuba. When is the best time to visit Cuba? If you decide to go on Norwegian Cruiselines, definetly stay away from the Norway one of their ships. CHeap is Carnival but if you want quality Norwegian, Royal Caribbean, they are reallynice, I would say best time is August/September, and Caribbean is lots of fun.
I think April is a good month, so is September, but watch out for Hurricanes. They got my cruise cancelled last year, but I think I am going to try again this year in September, cause it is cheaper then the high season (summer).

Stay away from the winter time and hurricane season. This is when the most storms will form and cause the waters to be rough (I've been on cruises in the winter that has 20 foot waves) Peak season is most likely to be the calmest water.
Have you ever been on a cruise? I know several people that have motion sickness and were not affected by it. But, there are patches and also wrist bands that you can buy (the ship usually will have them as well) that helps you to deal with it.

Not the winter time!! When the cold water of the Atlantic hits the warm water of the caribbean, usually one gets turbulent waters, however, load up on sea-sickness pills which contain antihistimines, book a cabin in the center of the ship ( which is the most stabilized part of the ship ), and, if worse comes to worse, visit the ships Dr. The turbulent seas only last a short time - usually a day, so I think u will be fine. when is the best time of the year to visit the carribean? I'm a fan of March and April. Decemeber and January can actually be a little chilly in much of the Caribbean. We went to Jamaica in January once, and the highs were in the mid to upper 70's, so if it gets windy you can get kind of chilly on the beach. when is the best time of the year to visit the carribean? Have been to many different islands at different times of the year and loved it all. On most islands the Temp. does not fluctuate much from summer to winter. Might want to remember June to November is hurricane season, but that too have never stopped me. The chances of being on one of the islands the exact week its hit is slim. Summer is usually cheaper and actually, I think prettier because everything is blooming. Winter is nice if you are leaving somewhere cold.
I loved it in November or late April!

Take pounds sterling and exchange there. Do not take US dollars. try your local bank. if not go to you travel agent and ask. i don't think you can get it over here. think it's best to take sterling or dollars. Cuba have few imports and exports, they're self reliable.
You cannot buy Cuban currency or exchange for pesos. Castro wants you to spend your currency to keep his communist * afloat as all his people starve. So if you have to put more money into Castro's pocket then spend Euros or Sterlings
